How I brew (pourover)
🫖Boil water, rinse the filter
⚖️32.5g coffee for 500ml water, ground fresh
Add grounds to dripper, tare to 0g
⏱️Bloom 30s, then pour to 200g
Circle-pour to 500g, ~3 min total, stir & serve

A famous roastery started by a World Barista Champion. Lots of Ethiopian and Kenyan coffee here — bright, floral, fruity. My favorites: Geisha El Vikingo, Echemo Ethiopia, Finca Tamana, and Finca El Puente.

Tatmara Ethiopia 74110 — Natural4 / 5Floral, tropical fruit, strawberry. Slightly burnt finish.
Caballero — Honduras, Niacinamento4.5 / 5SL28 variety — red berries, deeply satisfying.❤️
Geisha El Vikingo — Honduras Washed5 / 5Herbal, floral, citrus. One of the best.❤️
Finca Tamana — Colombia WashedHerbal, caramel, chocolate. A repeat favourite.❤️
Finca Tamana Variedad — El Pital, Huila Colombia Washed4.5 / 5Sweet chocolate, caramel & red fruits.
Echemo — Ethiopia Heirloom Washed5 / 5Floral, white tea, stone fruits. Exceptional.❤️
Karogoto — Kenya SL28, SL14, Batian Washed4.5 / 5Blackberry, hibiscus, blackcurrant. Dark chocolate, slightly heavy.
Caballero Honduras Pacamara — Washed4.5 / 5Winery, ripe red berries, tropical fruits.

Nacimiento — El Salvador Pacas Washed4 / 5Stone fruits, red berries, herbal. A little too bitter.

Fuglen Coffee Roasters Gamlebyen (roastery) & Sentrum

Coffee bar by day, cocktail bar by night. Good Kenyan and Peruvian coffee — the Ngurueri and Kiambara were both excellent. The Ethiopian Biloya was a rare miss.

The specialty chain you'll find all over Oslo. Reliably good. The Kenyan Muranga Gatagua and the Yirgacheffe Banko Gotiti are the standouts.

A small neighborhood spot near Bislett. Good light-roast filter coffee. The Peruvian Damian Espinoza was excellent — hazelnut, stone fruit, vanilla biscuit.

Japanese-influenced café with great pastries and several locations around town. Consistently good coffee — Mr. Mengeche Derso, Finca El Placer Pink Bourbon, and Finca la Fuente were the best of the bunch.
